First set of the finals

At the end of the first set of the final day, Australia in the Mixed teams have a small lead in the final and, in the Women's playoff, Australia have a small lead as well.

In this set, board 6 was another wild hand where big swings were possible

The NS scores in all 16 matches were as shown

4S doubled by South +1  +690.     3 times

5S doubled by South =.   +650.     6 times

6H doubled by East.  -1.  +200.     1 time

6S doubled by South -1.  -100.      2 times

at the rest of the 4 tables EW were doubled in 5H either making or with an overtrick for big minus results

There is no textbook written to indicate how to bid these hands.

East 3H then South 3S and then West and East need to make decisions is perhaps one option. (Or 4H then 4S maybe).

The important aspect of these hands is not to get a big score against you.

In the Australia vs China Taipei A match each NS made +650 in 5S doubled which was the most common result and probably the 'normal' result (even though 5S can be beaten but it is not clear how to defend and it is easy to ses how it will normally make). This was the only match where this board was flat.

In the Australia Women's match, this was their bad board even though they recovered well to win the set. Australia allowed 5H doubled to make an overtrick in one room and doubled 4S making an overtrick in the other.
