First World Schools Bridge Teams Championship
New York, Jul. 12-14, 2004

The first ever World bridge championship for school students has been scheduled alongside the World Youth Pairs in New York from the 12th -- 14th July.  This will be a teams of 4 event.

The title is a little misleading as the event will be open to players under 20.

In future, from 2006, the World Schools Bridge Teams Championship will be conducted alongside the World Youth Teams.  The implication, therefore is that the event will next take place in 2007.

In the event that any group of under 20s have an interest in participating, time is short as the WBF require entries by May 15th.

If such interest exists, interested parties will need to contact David Lusk by email or ‘phone as soon as possible.

As this event has only just been put on the table, it is unlikely that any subsidies will be made available by the ABF.  However, if financial assistance is essential for any intending participants, then that should be detailed with any enquiry.

Further information on this event can be found on the World Bridge Federation’s website:   www.worldbridge.org/tourn/NewYork.04/Schools.htm
