The 2008 Australian Youth Championships was dedicated
to the memory of Leigh Barnier

2008 Results

The Australian Youth Bridge Week is in its 40th year. About 60 players born on or after 1/1/78 take part. You can play bridge for a week, or just for a session or two at the start or the end of the week. All welcome.

Summary of Main Results
 
2008 National Youth Pairs was won by Gabby Feiler and Justin Williams.
 
2008 National Youth Teams resulted in a tie between:
Andy Hung - Nabil Edgtton, Nye Griffiths - Paul Gosney and
Gabby Feiler - Justin Williams, Griff Ware - Daniel Krochmalik.
 
The Hung team won a thrilling 4 board playoff.
 
Ten top pairs qualified for the three-day Butler to select the 2008 Australian Youth Team. The winning pair Andy Hung - Nabil Edgtton go into the team. The pairs who finished 2nd to 5th then played the Playoff, with Griff Ware - Daniel Krochmalik and Nye Griffiths - Paul Gosney taking the other two places in the team.
