After East opens 1C and West bids 1S, then North has various options over this bid and being at favourable vulnerability will compete aggressively normally.

Then, if EW get to a vulnerable 4S, do NS save in 5H, pass it out or does South double.

This was the result in the Open matches (scores shown as NS scores)

When China Training were NS, China EW 4S doubled making -790 and when China were NS, they saved in 5H doubled 2 down -300

China Hong Kong vs India B  NS 5H doubled 2 down -300 at each table

This was the result in the Women's matches

When India B were NS, China Taipei EW 4S making -620 and when China Taipei were NS, India B EW 4S 1 down +100

When Australia were NS, China EW 4S doubled 1 down +200 and when China were NS, Australia EW 4S 1 down +100

This was the result in the Mixed matches

When Australia were NS, Thailand EW 4S 1 down +100 and when Thailand were NS, they saved in 5H doubled 1 down -300

When India A were NS, EW 4S 1 down +100 and when China Taipei A were NS, they saved in 5H 1 down -50

This was the result in the Seniors

In the China Taipei A vs China Hong Kong match, NS were allowed to play 3H at each table, one making +170 and the other +140

when India B were NS, 4S doubled making -790 and when China were NS, 4S 1 down.

------------------

A lesson from this hand can be summarised that when South is faced with a 4S bid, a double gives declarer a strong clue about the spade break and careful play makes the contract. Unless the opponents bid a ridiculous game, be careful when you double, with the exception of one table (and I do not know the play), no opponent made 4S undoubled but a couple did when doubled and in the Australia match, it could have been another. Australia gained 3 imps but it could have been a big loss.
