Olympic Park is located in the geographical centre of Sydney, 20 minutes from Harbour Bridge and Opera House and 10 mins from the secondary business district of Parramatta.

Entering

Entry to the tournament and lodgement of systems is made via the WBF official website www.worldbridge.org/tourn/Sydney.05/Information.htm.

Participants upload photos of their team members and officials and book and pay for their accommodation using the Participants Details form on this website.

Accommodation

All participants are expected to stay at one of the two nominated hotels which sit side by side approximately 100 metres from the playing venue. The WBF believes that the integrity of the event is maintained by all participants staying at the venue and enjoying communal meals.

Four Star: Novotel Hotel Olympic Park. Facilities include Air-conditioning, Private Bathroom, Parking, Telephone, Restaurant, Bar, Non Smoking Rooms, Disabled Rooms/Facilities. Tennis-court, Spa & Wellness Centre.

Three Star: Ibis Hotel Olympic Park. Facilities include Air-conditioning, Private Bathroom, Parking, Telephone, Restaurant, Bar, Non-Smoking Rooms, Disabled Rooms/Facilities, Tennis court, Spa & Wellness Centre.

Costs: The following room rates inclusive of all meals from Sunday evening 7th August 2005 through to closing Breakfast Thursday 18th August 2005:

Payment

All accommodation must be prepaid when entering your teams or by making alternative arrangements with the convenors.

In addition a credit card must be provided to the hotel for additional charges such as telephone, mini-bar, laundry etc.

Transport

It is our plan to appoint a host for each team. The function of the hosts will be to transport the teams to and from the airport, the welcome and victory functions as well as providing support for any requirements that the teams may have.

The venue and accommodation is well served by the Olympic Park railway station and an express train will get you to the CBD in around 18 minutes.

Meals

Apart from the opening and closing ceremonies, the excursion day and some of the lunches, all meals will be held communally at the accommodation hotels. Participants who are not staying at the venue are offered meals as follows:

ANC Butler: The Australian bridge Federation has changed the order of the Australian National Championships to allow participants to play in one of Australia's most prestigious Tournaments.

The venue is the Sydney Masonic Centre in the Sydney CBD. If you require accommodation options for this event please contact David Stern at david@wytc.net.

Maximum 6 non-Australian pairs may advance to Stage II
Stage II (28 Pairs Advance) Sunday 31st July to Tuesday 2nd August
Maximum 4 non-Australian pairs may advance to Stage III
Stage III (14 Pairs Advance) Wednesday 3rd to Friday 5th August

The ABF has kindly advised that there will be no entry fees for participants in the WYTC. Officials are also invited to enter this prestigious tournament but entry fees will apply. More details of this event can be found on the ABF Website www.abf.com.au/events/anc/2005/index.asp.

ABF Youth Triathlon: The ABF Youth Committee is holding a Youth Triathlon (individual, teams and pairs) in Sydney on August 5-7, 2005. All participants in the WYTC are invited to participate.

Enter as a team of 4. Events will be played in Teams of 4, Matchpoint Pairs and Individual format. Players may elect to compete in any or all of the events but only players competing in all three formats are eligible to win.

Australian Prepaid mobile phone vouchers are available from a minimum cost of $A20.  Calling Cards are also readily available to many major overseas destinations.  Cards can be purchased from any Australian Post office, many Newsagents and many vendor outlets.  Some international vendors, such as Vodafone, will allow you to use your mobile in other countries - so check with your vendor before you leave home
