Comments:
Don't laugh Beauchamp! I have a variety of views already. The bid I made did not meet with the approval of my partner!!

And David's Response:
Hi Neil,
There seem to be two options with this hand:
1. Commit the hand to clubs and bid 5 clubs. This will often make, but it looks to me that if partner has a doubleton heart (not the king), this may be down one.
2. Double- if this shows a flexible hand, partner with Ax or Kx can bid 3NT. I expect that this contract will have nine fast tricks. Partner is not likely to pass the double and if he/she passes with say J10x,x,AKJ,AQJxxx, they will go down quite a lot on a heart lead. The only downside of this action is that partner won't play me for 4-card club support.
Please let me know what the full hand was.
By the way, did you double?

All the best,
David Beauchamp
