ABF Regulations

1. MASTERPOINTS

Gold Masterpoints will be awarded for all stages of the ABPC and all ANC Championship Events, the Butler Consolation Event and the Restricted Butler Championship. Red Masterpoints will be awarded in all other Congress Events including walk-ins.

2. PLAYOFF QUALIFYING POINTS

Qualifying points for the playoff will be awarded to the first six eligible pairs in the Open, Women and Seniors’ ABPC and all players in the Interstate teams, with additional awards for 1st and 2nd.

3. SYSTEM REGULATIONS

All players must have a completed current ABF Standard System card.

4. SYSTEM DISCLOSURE

Pairs intending to use a Yellow system in APBC II/III must lodge an adequate summary, typed or written legibly in black ink, on a WBF or ABF standard system card plus one side of a maximum of two supplementary A4 sheets with the Chief Tournament Director by 5.30pm, Sunday 15 July.

5. ABPC ENTRY CONDITIONS

Entrants not resident in Australia are entitled to enter all stages of the ABPC. Entrants resident in Australia, who are ABF registered players, are eligible to enter ABPC Stage I but must be “eligible” (refer to the ABF playoff regulations) to represent Australia in order to enter ABPC Stages II, III or B.

Stage I:       8 board matches: format dependent on entry
Stage II:      14 pair Mitchell format (10 board matches) with the first 7 pairs in each                    direction qualifying for Stage III
Stage A:      10 board matches: format dependent on entry

Stage III/B:  14 pair Howell format (14 board matches).

6. DRESS REGULATIONS

All players and spectators are expected to be neat and tidy at all times in the venue.

7. MOBILE PHONES/ PAGERS

Mobile phones and pagers are prohibited in playing areas.

8. SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS

ABF Supplementary regulations will apply to all events. Where the ABF Regulations are silent, BFACT regulations will apply.
