NEW EVENT......

National Restricted Butler Championship

a gold-pointed event with medallions awarded to the top 3 pairs.

Three sessions: 18 to 20 July, 1.30pm each day 

Players with less than 300 masterpoints at 31^st March 2001 will be eligible to contest this event.

There will be a wide range of congress events some of which will include special category prizes for

 Seniors (55+) , Mixed, Regional, Novice (<100MPs) and Restricted (<300MPs)

(in some events, where numbers permit, a separate restricted section will be run)
Also novelty spot prizes will be awarded.

The highest placed Open, Women, Seniors’ and Mixed Pairs

  in the CANBERRA PAIRS (evenings of 16 & 17 July)

 will be win a place in the relevant

Pairs Championship (a Gold Point event) on Saturday 21 July.

NOTE: Both members of the partnership must be resident in the same State or Territory

SOCIAL PLAYERS' DAY at the CHAMPIONSHIPS

This is an opportunity for those who have little or no experience of competition bridge to sample this addictive form of the game.

 What will be on offer?

A brief introduction to duplicate bridge

Two sessions of approximately two hours each with a break for lunch.

Prizes for the quick learners

An opportunity to watch (“kibitz”) the Interstate Teams Championship and soak up the atmosphere

Bridge merchandise—books, software, novelty items

VU-GRAPH

There will be outstanding kibitzing opportunities throughout ANC 2001 culminating in a
VU-GRAPH presentation of the final 20 boards of the Interstate Teams Championship.

A panel of bridge personalities should ensure this is both instructive and entertaining.
