Queensland Floods Appeal

The ABF Management Committee knows that all bridge players in Australia are distressed by the tragedy in Queensland caused by recent flooding. The full extent of the damage will not be known until floodwaters recede. This is an unprecedented situation in Queensland and we ask bridge players to give what they can to the fund established by the Queensland Premier, Anna Bligh. Cheques can be made out to the Premiers Disaster Relief Appeal, or go to the Queensland Government website, www.qld.gov.au/floods

It must be noted that floods have inundated other places around Australia with 130 local government areas suffering damage. There is no doubt that support to any fund to assist those in need, in any part of the country, would be appreciated.

The Queensland Bridge Association is in touch with the clubs affected in Queensland and will contribute what is possible to assist the clubs involved in Queensland.
