PRESS RELEASE - GNOT 2005 NATIONAL FINAL

CHANGE OF VENUE

This year’s GNOT National Final will be played at Club Banora, Banora Point (Tweed Heads).   Club Banora is a division of Twin Towns Services Club, Tweed Heads, New South Wales.

The dates for the 2005 GNOT National Final remain as advertised, i.e. Friday to Monday 18-21 November.

Further information will be posted on this website in the near future.  In the meantime, details about Club Banora can be obtained from <www.twintowns.com.au>.

(This announcement is provided for the information of the members of Twin Towns Services Club and their guests.)

The ABF Management Committee, at its February meeting, considered a request from John Brockwell, Convener of the GNOT National Final, to move the 2005 final to Club Banora, Banora Point.  The Management Committee supported the proposal subject to the following:

  1. That the dates for the GNOT 2005 National Final be Friday to Monday 18-21 November 2005.

  2. That any players involved in the Spring National Open Teams Final (on Thursday 17 November) be given relief to enable them to meet their GNOT commitments.  Exact details and conditions of the relief will be determined by the ABF Tournament Committee taking into account transport costs and arrival times.  (Such players would, however, be expected to make every effort to travel to the Banora Point venue post haste.)

  3. That the move to Club Banora be regarded as a one-year trial to enable the Management Committee to assess the merits of the move.  Reports will be sought from the Player Liaison Committee, the Tournament Committee, the Finance Committee and the Conveners of both the Spring Nationals and the GNOT, and as personal feedback from the players.
